Prioritizing Faith & Family: Introducing Vida Family
Feb 29, 2024Welcome to the Vida Stories Podcast! I'm Elizabeth Escobar, and I'm thrilled to have you here with me. Today, I want to unpack and discuss some exciting changes that are happening. While I've shared this on social media, I believe it's important to share it in an episode for those who may have missed it.
Why the Change?
I've decided to make a shift back to the very reason I began writing: to create family resources, devotionals, and more. Last year, this podcast focused on storytelling, publishing, and writing books, which we'll still touch on from time to time. However, our main focus will now be family-based resources.
Our Journey:
My husband and I started our writing and publishing journey by creating faith-based Christian content for families with young children. We published two bilingual Christian devotionals and I had the opportunity to coach 12 women on writing their testimonies in the book titled, Promises. This journey naturally evolved into book coaching, which I've dedicated much of my time to in recent years.
End of the Year Reflections
As we often do at the end of a year, I began reflecting on the past year and praying about the future. I sensed from the Lord a call to step back into writing and to remember the books He had put in my heart.
Introducing Vida Family:
We're thrilled to introduce Vida Family, our new brand. Vida Family's mission is to teach families how to create a generational faith story through our three pillars: faith, formation, and fun.

2. Formation - Covering character formation and practical living out of spiritual giftings.
3. Fun - Incorporating fun as a practical way to bond and safeguard from cultural tendencies of hurry, hustle and burnout.

The Big Goal
Our goal is to have an annual Vida Family retreat where families can come together to rest, have fun, and impart blessings to the next generation.
Faith & Family in the Bible
Let's delve deeper into three families in Scripture—Mary and Joseph, Zachariah and Elizabeth, and Simeon and Anna—who exemplify the importance of family and faith.
Mary and Joseph
Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Joseph, his earthly father, were chosen by God to raise the Messiah. Despite their humble status, they were highly favored by God. Their story reminds us that God often chooses ordinary, faithful people to accomplish His extraordinary plans.
Zachariah and Elizabeth
This devout Jewish couple, despite their barrenness, remained faithful to God. Zachariah, a righteous priest, and Elizabeth, his wife, trusted in God's timing. Their story teaches us that God can use our circumstances, even our struggles, to bring about His purposes in our lives.
Simeon and Anna
Simeon and Anna were elderly individuals who devoted their lives to serving God in the temple. They recognized Jesus as the Messiah when He was presented at the temple as a baby. Their faithfulness and prophetic insight remind us of the importance of passing on our faith to the next generation and being sensitive to God's leading.
These families demonstrate that God often works through ordinary, faithful families to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. As we seek to strengthen and fortify our families, let's remember the example set by these faithful individuals in Scripture.
